As per the attached image (ADS292R FRONTEND),

We need alternate configuration for single lead ECG with Respiratory. We need to put PULLUP and PULLDOWN 10M resistors to protect IN2P(pin6) and IN2N(pin5) leads of chip as defibrillator protection circuit. Please suggest alternate circuit.

Using the above similar circuit, we are also planning to design 3lead ECG (Using all four lead wires) with defibrillator protection circuit. What is the best approach?

Hi Rahul,

CH1 is AC coupled so the 10M resistors set the common mode input to mid supply.

ERL and ECG_SHD_DRV are connected to same net if R41 and R117 are populated. Is it ok to connect this way? (I mean can we use ERL and SHIELD in the circuit) OR should we use either ERL or ECG_SHD_DRV for same operation?

Hi Rahul,

In general for the ADS1292R, you would use one or the other, not both. The shield components were not installed on the EVM.

In the example below we want to use two cases for experimenting.
case1] Connect "ERL" to ADS (Pin 28,29 and 30) and Connect "ECG_SHD_DRV" to "CHASIS" ground. [We will DNI R75 and R76]

case2] Connect "ECG_SHD_DRV" to ADS (Pin 28,29 and 30). [We will DNI R77] and ERL will be floating [DNI R63]

Please see if both the approach is good to go ahead OR do we need to do some additional changes?

Hi Rahul,

That looks correct. One thing you might consider is adding a few more resistors as shown below. This would give you the option to invert the RLD signal into the shield. You would DNI 'R75' and add R to ADS_AVDD, R to IN- and R in feedback path.
