FDC1004 LIQUID SENSOR MEASUREMENT RATE

Hi Team,

This is a preliminary question for level sensing application. For the 2 channel measurements (not considering the environmental sensor) is it possible to achieve level measurements in a total time <20ms?

At 400 S/s this should mean 5ms if no other delays are inserted (to get the DONE for each meas)

Thanks a lot

Nicola

  • The data bus is time-multiplexed between the channels so a 400S/s rate with 2 measurements enabled would result in 200S/s per measurement. 200S/s = 5ms. So it would take a total of 10ms to collect the measurements from both the LEVEL and the REF. If you are in standby mode (so the device has been already powered on), if you trigger the measurement, it will take exactly 5ms to complete (10ms for both measurements), the wakeup time is included in the 5/10ms. If you power off the device after every measurement, you would need to re-program al the registers before triggering a measurement and there will be also another start-up time to be taken into account.

So as long as you do not power off the device, and just keep triggering the measurements, it should be <20ms.

    Thanks
