Segmentation fault in Code Generation tool

Hi Aarti,

I have encountered same issue on the windows 7.

Processor : TMS570LS20216 (Cortex R4), Code Composer Studio : 4.2.0.10018,  TMS470 C/C++ CODE GENERATION TOOLS 4.6.3

From Help->Software Updates -> Find and Install , i have installed the updates for Code composer studio and code generation tools. But the error still exists. How to make sure that updates are installed correctly on my desktop ? And while installing i got an WARNING message saying that some features are not tested. What is tested version of CCS and CGT which is stable ? And let me know how to get the updates installed ?

The process you have followed to install the code gen updates is correct. The warnings about the features can be ignored. Once you install the updates though, you need to set your project to use the newer version of codegen tools for the build. Did you do that step? You have mentioned that the way i have installed the updates is correct. But how can i make sure that updates are installed to my computer ?

I have followed the steps that are mentioned in the above link, but could not seen the latest version in the dropdown button for ths code genearation tools option available in the project properties.

Please provide me steps for installing updates for CCS and CGT . I am using CCS V4.

If CCS installed and detected the new version of codegen tools properly, then it should list it in the "Discovered tools" list as mentioned in the wiki article:
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Compiler_Installation_and_Selection#CCStudio_4.x

If this is not happening for you, I'm not sure what could be the reason.

Another suggestion is to download the image for the latest CCS version and install. http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS#Code_Composer_Studio_Version_4_Downloads
This will automatically give you the latest version of the ARM compiler. You can install this in a different folder than your current installation if you do not wish to modify/uninstall your existing installation until things have been tested/verified.

Problem is not resovlved. Please guide me.

I have unsialled the image of CCS on my desktop. And then re installed CCS V4 exe that is available with me. After that i installed the updates that i require as i mentioned in previous. I got an message saying that Inatlling Updates after that i restarted restarted  the worksapce.

And then i checked the code generation tools descory path as below. I dont see that updates are installed. I have mentioned one more sanpshot which shows path of the features installed.

It looks like the codegen tools update did not install at all. If you are using Windows 7, it is recommended to install CCS in a different location than C:\Program Files, as the UAC can prevent things like updates from working properly.  Please see this article: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/FAQ_-_CCSv4#Q:_Is_Windows_7_supported.3F

Instead of uninstalling and reinstalling the version you have again, I would suggest downloading and installing the latest version of CCS4 in a different folder (other than C:\Program Files). http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS#Code_Composer_Studio_Version_4_Downloads
This will get you up to the latest versions of all the components. Once you have verified it is working as desired, you can uninstall your previous version.
