    Good day,

Having problems installing CCS v 5.1.1.00031 on Win 7 Dell.  Errors posted below.

I see this is a common problem solved here on the forum more than once, but the other solutions I've seen don't work for me.

I've followed the instructions at http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCS#Installation and deleted  InstallJammer CCSv4 & CCSv5 registry folders.

This is the offline installer, and same download copy installed fine on a separate PC.

My errors are below.  Hope you can help!

    Thanks,

    Joel

      Hi,

can you please try the following

      - make sure to fully unzip the installer first.  Do not use any directories for the installer or installation directory that contain special/accented character or the program files directory

      - send us the contents of your installjammer registry directory (under program files or program files(x86)

      Best Regards,
      Lisa

      InstallJammer Registry.zip

Thank you for the quick reply.

      1) Yes, fully unzipped already.

1a) Yes, I saw your earlier troubleshooting post and even renamed the default unzipped directory to get rid of the dots and underscores.  Not sure if those are special characters to your WhammerJammer app, but they're kind of special to me.  Also moved it to the root of my C:\ drive to eliminate any similar problems related to characters or path depth.

On a similar note, it seems odd that the error message specifies a pathname with a mix of forward slashes and backslashes.  Maybe this is normal -- ?

      2) Zip file attached as you requested.

      Thanks,

      Joel

      Hi Joel,

a couple things.  Do you have full permisssions?   Can you make sure the file C:\CCS51\baserepo\eclipsebase_setup_3.7.1.0.exe exists?  What’s the size? It could be that your unzipped version is not complete.

      Best Regards,
      Lisa

      Hi Lisa,

Yes, I have full admin rights on this PC.  I also had UAC turned off during the attempted installation, if that makes a difference.

      To answer your other question:

Volume in drive C is OSDisk
       Volume Serial Number is <snip>

       Directory of C:\CCS51\baserepo

      04/05/2012  11:56 AM    <DIR>          .
      04/05/2012  11:56 AM    <DIR>          ..
      03/30/2012  03:45 PM         1,440,371 ccs_setup_4.0.0.0.exe
      03/30/2012  03:45 PM           960,957 doc.zip
      03/30/2012  03:46 PM        31,364,806 jre_1.6.0_13.zip
      03/30/2012  03:46 PM         2,693,220 utils.zip
      03/30/2012  03:46 PM         4,216,840 vcredist_x86.exe
      03/30/2012  03:46 PM         2,707,352 vcredist_x86_2005.exe
      03/30/2012  03:45 PM         2,585,872 WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
                     7 File(s)     45,969,418 bytes
                     2 Dir(s)  142,838,001,664 bytes free

So, C:\CCS51\baserepo\eclipsebase_setup_3.7.1.0.exe should exist straight from the unzipped file set?  It's not self-extracted during installation?  If yes and no, then it sounds like you've found my problem.  Interestingly, on the other PC where this installation worked fine, that file is present and is 111,964 kb in size.  So, I'm guessing the file transfer got corrupted somehow, yes?

      Thanks,
      Joel

      Hi Joel,

the file should be there when you unzip the installer.  So before installation.  So it appears something got corrupted.

I hope this helps.  Have you tried redownloading?

      Best Regards,
      Lisa

      Hi Lisa,

Okay, it was apparently a bad copy from my network drive.  Recopied & re-unzipped and now it works fine.  Thanks!
