Cannot debug because of .lib extension

Hello,

I am using CCS v5 and Sys/Bios 6.33.01.25 and TI's simulator (Generic C674x).

I am triyng to build and run the "small" example found in the generic. It builds fine but when I try to debug the code I get the following error:

Eclipse log: "TMS320C64X+_0: GEL: Encountered a problem loading file: C:\...\workspace_v5_2\SWi and clock\Debug\SWi and clock.lib ".lib" is not a legal file extension"

I try deleting the lib file but everytime it builds it creates it again. Does anyone know what is going on and how I can resolve it? Thanks in advanced.

Michelle,

It sounds like the output of the CCS project build is generating a .lib (library) file instead of a .out (executable) file. Maybe you inadvertantly set the "Output type" to be Static Library instead of Executable when creating the new project. Could you double check and make sure the "Output type" is set to Executable in the Project Properties? If not, you would need to create a new project.
