Source lookup: unable to restore CPU specific source container

Hello,

When trying to start a debug session in CCSv5.5 I get this message box which I've never seen before installing CCSv6:

'Launching Project' has encountered a problem. Source lookup: unable to restore CPU specific source container - expecting valid source container id value.

What does it even mean? Project files have been reverted to before installation of CCSv6 but no change. Also deleted the workspace. How can I restore to have working debugging session?

Hi Ki,

Unfortunately I didn't wait long enough for an answer and I followed the cleaning installation instructions on that page and deleted all the .TI folders, re-installed the CCSv5.5 but it was still reporting that error. Then I discovered the .settings and .launch folders inside my project folders which I deleted and now launching debugging works again, maybe this can help you trace the problem. I can give you the InstallJammer logs but I don't have tracing enabled for the other type of logs. 6567.ccsv5.zip

Hi, Lee:

I have the same problem. In case I change the project name otherwise I can not debug. I can build the project.

So the current solution is I change the project name, even only change 1 number or 1 alphabet.

Do you know the root cause?

Hi Tom,

Yes, by reverting project files to 5.5 version from svn and removing .settings and .launch folders that were created in project folders.

Tom, David - I'm encountering the same problem. I changed the project name and things really blew up - common C types were unrecognized. So I changed the project name back. Still getting "Source lookup: unable to restore CPU specific source container - expecting valid source container id value." Do you know hat the heck is going on?
