During update today, I received error (under admin mode prior)

An error occurred while installing the items
session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Install, operand=null --> [R]com.ti.cgt.msp430.4.3.win32_root 4.3.4, action=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.touchpoint.natives.actions.ChmodAction).
The action chmod failed - file c:\ti\ccsv6\eclipse\downloads\com.ti.cgt.msp430.4.3.win32_manifest.xml does not exist

Please advise what shall I do about it?

I hagh mid range 17" Dell Inspiron laptop on Window 8.1.

Hi,

It sounds like your anti-virus real-time file scanning is holding files open/quarantining them. Could you please turn off the scanning and let me know if this solves your problem when you try again.

I had a look into Norton Security and confirmed no quarantining, the history stated no records, so this rules out.

Suggestion?

Hi Richard,

Could you please confirm that you're running as administrator? It could be that you have a permissions issue. Run ccstudio with -clean from a command prompt. When you try the update and it fails, do you see the files in the eclipse\downloads folder? Sometimes, eclipse errors are misleading and I want to be sure that the problem is actually what it says it is!
