I am attempting to load files into the online pinmux tool from local storage and the tool hangs during the "Setting up your pinmux project" stage. This had been working fine up until a couple days ago.

I have this same problem with both AM5716 and AM5726 device pinmux files. I tried multiple versions that I had saved and none of them are working anymore. I tried saving a new design and comparing the output files, and all the version information seems to be the same. (I had a similar problem previously when version data changed, but that does not seem to be the case here).

There seems to be a bug that was introduced into the pinmux tool recently.

We are still tweaking some of the use cases for and this has an unfortunate side affect of breaking compatibility with files saved by previous versions. There may be a workaround depending on the version used to save the configuration.

Do you know which version of tool was used to generate your saved configurations?

Do you also have local copies of the tool?

I do not have a local version of the tool. My understanding was that the online version was recommended over the local version. I do not know which version of the tool I was using - just that it was last saved on 5/16.

I have numerous completed pinmux files for various permutations of our design. It would take me many hours to recreate these files and then I still wouldn't have any assurance that it wouldn't break again next week. We really need a reliable way of opening up our existing files.

Please download the version below and try and to load you saved files. Please confirm that it works.

I will look at what changed between versions and see what can be done to load the files into the latest version.

Thanks, but the link you sent appears to be corrupt. I think you meant to send just the first part of that (1103 version). I tried to manually enter a link to the 1103 version, but got a file not found error. I was able to download the 1145 version, but that did not load my pinmux file.

I tried installing that tool on 2 different PC's and I cannot open my pinmux file. The open file dialog just goes away after clicking ok, and then nothing happens. Same thing for both my 5716 and 5726 designs.

If this version loads your saved file, are you using any of the GMAC_SWx peripherals for AM5728_SR2.0_beta?

If yes, try removing them, save the file under a new name, and try loading into the latest version.

Ironically, I'm the one that pointed out that there was a problem with the GMAC interface in the 5726 device in the pinmux tool.

Anyway, I was able to load my files in version 1159. I removed the GMAC and saved, and then I was able to reload the design in the web version.

Going forward, do you recommend that I work with the web app, or should I use the tool locally? Is there even a way to download the latest version of the tool ?

Both the web version and the download version offer the same features so really no advantage either way. The WEB version will always offer the latest version available without the need for you to check for updates.

The latest download version is available under PINMUXTOOL_DESKTOP_PREVIOUS" at www.ti.com/.../pinmuxtool
