How to Set up CCSv4 Graphing

I believe Real-time mode is enabled by default. So if you enable the "Enable Continuous Refresh" option, it should update the graphs while running.

This option is one of the icons on the Graph view.

Thanks for the reply. I had enabled the "continuous refresh", however, it did not show the real data. I tried to display a counter value, which is updated in an ISR every 10 us, from 0 to 0xFFFFFFFF. Please refer to the captures below and advise what was wrong, or please send me procedures of setting up graph.

However, if the sampling rate is too high you may have some problems. Check the forum post below that covers the pitfalls of using a graph to display quick changing variables.

Following the instruction, first I changed the place where my variable counter updates in 1k frequency, I saw the variable counter's contents are changing in the Watch window, however, the graph stays at 0. My variable counter is a global variable, but does not have a buffer. I just don't know how to get the graph working.

Although I've been successful in making the graph tool work, sometimes it fails to update its contents whenever I close and restart a debug session - either if I click on the red button on the toolbar or close CCS entirely between workdays. Although annoying, I usually close the graph tool view before terminating and open a new one after starting a new debug session - the major drawback is to reconfigure all the parameters again.

I really can't recall anything else that could cause this, but I will keep looking.

I don't know whether there was something wrong in my CCS v4 environment or in setup, the waveform shows irrelevant data. I attached the property setting and the waveform, please take a look and advise.

I am seeing the same issue in CCSv4 (4.1.3) - is there really a way to do real time mode, because when I plot a buffer, it zeroes it out in continuous refresh until the processor is halted.   Was the zeroing out issue resolved?

J.M. - what device are you using?

C6474 on the Spectrum Digital EVM

Is this possible on the C6474 EVM, otherwise I will need to roll back to CCS v 3

The issue still exists but there are plans to address.
