armv5 compiler

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

Hello,

I have a DRV8301-LS31-KIT. It is a motor control evaluation kit with a TMS570 for spinning three phase brushless DC.

http://www.ti.com/tool/drv8301-ls31-kit

I startet the GUI for InstaSPIN and it worked fine. Then I try to import the project in ccs5 like it is explained in the motorware solution dokumentation. The import of the existing project dont work. It causes a Error: "Import failed for project 'TMS570_instaspin_bldc' because its compiler definition is not available. Please install the ARMv5.0 compiler before importing this project."
My ccs5 only have version 4.9.7. and I dont know where to get a newer version of the arm compiler.

I hope you can tell me, what to do. Thanks

  • You can update to the v5.0.x compiler tools by going to Help->Insall New Software. Select "Code Generation Tools Updates" from the Work with: list, then expand the list and choose the 5.0.x compiler and install. Note that there is a checkbox on that screen that says "Show only the latest versions of available software". If this is checked you will only see the latest version on the 5.0.x stream. If you want to see all versions (and specifically get 5.0.0) then uncheck this box.

  • Thanks a lot. Now everything runs.
