I'm not aware of any GNU tool for C2000.
I believe the tools are low cost enough, and generally robust enough that no one has embarked on this effort.
If you aren't aware you can download for free any of the following:
- 30 day time limit, no code/emulation limitations
- No time, No Code limit, but must use XDS100 class emulator
- 32KB code limit, no time or emulator limitations
And full versions are $495 that support all TI MCUs across all emulator platforms.

Yes. they are cheap but they are not free. They don't even run on Linux. So here I am, sitting with a machine running XP and longing for an environment with a real operating system. It's about as painful as a kick in the balls...

Janne,
I'll pass along your description to our IDE team :)
I believe our intention is to eventually (2011?) release a true Eclipse plug-in version of CCStudio, so you could run it in on any platform that Eclipse could run on. I know that up until now they haven't supported Linux just because it's a huge effort to have another O/S supported and the numbers they saw still showed this as a very small percentage of users (but growing the quickest of course).
Linux is very good. Also it is matured enough. Personally I and millions of people use it. But while using CCS at my office or home I need to switch to WINDOWS XP. So there should be a CCS for LINUX platform. CCS only for WINDOWS may indirectly mean that for using TI tools we should also pay to MICROSOFT.
Sandip,
As mentioned, CCSv5 will be a true open Eclipse environment and should be O/S agnostic. Current plan is a summer '11 release date.
The surveys that were done found that over 90% were using Windows machines, so the money and time were not spent to support for CCSv4
Hello,
look at this page http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Linux_Host_Support. There is a Linux version of CCS version 5. It is beta, but I tested it on Kubuntu 10.04 (32bit version) + XDS100v1 and it works very well.
