Hi,

I´m testing a new custom board with a 28335 and XDS100 onboard.

I flashed the eeprom with MProg and it apears as "TI XDS100 Channel A" "TI XDS100 Channel B" and "USB Serial Port (COM16)"

It pass connection test:

There is no hardware for programming the JTAG TCLK frequency.

There is no hardware for measuring the JTAG TCLK frequency.

-----[Perform the standard path-length test on the JTAG IR and DR]-----------

This path-length test uses blocks of 512 32-bit words.

The test for the JTAG IR instruction path-length succeeded.
The JTAG IR instruction path-length is 38 bits.

The test for the JTAG DR bypass path-length succeeded.
The JTAG DR bypass path-length is 1 bits.

-----[Perform the Integrity scan-test on the JTAG IR]------------------------

This test will use blocks of 512 32-bit words.
This test will be applied just once.

Do a test using 0xFFFFFFFF.
Scan tests: 1, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0x00000000.
Scan tests: 2, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0xFE03E0E2.
Scan tests: 3, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0x01FC1F1D.
Scan tests: 4, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0x5533CCAA.
Scan tests: 5, skipped: 0, failed: 0
Do a test using 0xAACC3355.
Scan tests: 6, skipped: 0, failed: 0
All of the values were scanned correctly.

The JTAG IR Integrity scan-test has succeeded.

This test will use blocks of 512 32-bit words.
This test will be applied just once.

The JTAG DR Integrity scan-test has succeeded.

But when I try to program it, shows this error:

C28xx: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1155 @ 0x0) Device may be operating in low-power mode. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 5.0.872.0)

Tried to low TCLK to 100KHz but it´s the same.

Any help?

Then there seems to be a JTAG related issue (can be design related too!)

Even though all the tests seem to have passed, please check your JTAG section.

Hello everybody!

I'm not sure this will be useful (this is about M35), but at least there was the same problem with JTAG http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000/f/171/t/129100.aspx.

The FTDI/JTAG circuit is based in TI layout and worked fine in another board, in this case it has a controlCard socket.

The new one is like a controlCard but with USB XDS100 circuit onboard.

I checked all circuit voltages and seems all good.

I think that communication test access to the controller. If it pass, the communication with the controller is ok. Or not?

Any new idea?

And you do not want to try C2Prog Code Skin http://www.codeskin.com/programmer? Only for F28335 you need the following settings:

Reprograming the FTDI eeprom i was able to program once the controller, but when i try to do it again, it fails again!

Now i´m really lost! *cry*

Hi, anybody.

I solved own situation.

My case was not able to connect to 28F235 used XDS100v2&CCSv5.4 and get error message "C28xx: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1155 @ 0x0) Device may be operating in low-power mode...". Moreover XCLKOUT output was not alternation.(XCLKOUT state was still H or L.) However, XCLKOUT was alternating immediately after XRS#(reset) to H. But XCLKOUT alternation was stopped after 52.75ms with XRS# to H. Furthermore, past 8.3us from XRS# to H, the frequency speed of XCLKOUT doubled. I thought "The CPU will running in BOOT ROM!". And I assumed the result of the CPU running continuously, the CPU into the strange state and could not connect with ICE.

From this assumption, I thought that the CPU will be able to connect ICE without into the strange state after XRS# to H. Therefore, I set the Boot Mode as E (SCI-A Boot Mode). The SCI-A Boot Mode waits a long time for "Auto Baud Lock" operation. This operation running is not in a strange state. I succeeded in connecting with ICE during the CPU running in Auto Baud Lock operation. After this, I am writing in the correct new program and have escaped from the state of not be able to connect with ICE. The method of making CPU to the SCI-A Boot Mode, refer to "Boot ROM Reference Guide (SPRU963A)"

May my experience be helpful to anyone.

Hi Gautam,

we have the DSP TMS320C2000 Piccolo 28069. the Problem is we can not connect to the device neither by using CCS nor Zero configuration GUI. the device was good at the begining but now we have a problem with the JTAG. we have tried the another modem device with the same configuration and it works good. Is it a hardware failure.

The error message is:

C28xx: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1155 @ 0x0) Device may be operating in low-power mode. 
Reset the device, and retry the operation. 
If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 5.1.232.0)

Could you please help us.

I spotted finally the problem.

Was a fabrication one:(

The value of populated crystal capacitors was wrong, it must be 33pF and was 100nF!

A supplier error at fabrication chain.

Now the boards works fine.

I use Texas Instruments Peripheral Explorer mother board + F28069 controlCARD

and in my case it is because the F28096 controlCARD is broken, so when I change the board with another one, then the debugging function working automatically, so if anyone have this problem try to change the board.
