Hi Marcus,

how can I trace the source of last reset??

This query is while in debug mode or in standalone mode?

it is in standalone mode, but I have permanent serial communication so I an display the contents of any register.

Ok, then the reset can be caused by :
1. Watchdog
2. XRS pin for external triggering.
You can go through these modules to check the concerned registers for reset.

Hi Marcus,
Which device you are referring in this case? Asking this because on new devices we have few more source of resets (in addition to what Gautam has mentioned) and a status register (RESC) has been provided to give info about what caused the reset.

Hi Vivek,

status register (RESC) has been provided to give info about what caused the reset.

Can you indicate where can I find this register? (I mean in which user guide section)
I was not able find the same in F28027 user guides.

This status register is avaible on some of latest device only. E.g. F28M35x/F28M36x/F2837x.
