About BQ76PL116 EVM Question and Power Supply connect

Hi  All

Now I  just receved  BQ76PL116 EVM and Testing.

But I have question for Battery ( Dummy Cell )  and Power Supply conenct.

This EVM board has   PACK (+) (-)  /  Battery (+) (-) ,   I think  Battery Cahrger need connect to  PACK(+) (-) Terminal.

But If we want to use Dummy cell for this EVM,

Question

  1)   About Power supply  how to connect  to EVM  ?    Batt  (+) (-) Terminal?    Is this Correct ?

           *

2)  About  Dummy cell  under 16s.  How to connect  to between  Power Supply  and  Dummy cell ?

Is this correct ?     For instance  Dummy cell 10s.

Sorry..... I confused about   Dummy cell under  16s Power connect.

Could you tell us about when use dummy cell or Real battery unders 16cells ?

Regard

Jasper

  • Jasper,

When you use resistors to emulate battery cells, you connect the resistors to the terminal blocks like you show in your illustration. You then have to apply a power supply ground connection to BATT- block and to the lower end of the resistor string (J9-pin 0). You have to apply a power supply power connection to BATT+ and to the top position of the resistor string (as you show in the 10s example). If you are using real battery cells, then you connect the power supply to the BATT+ and BATT- terminal blocks, but you do not connect them to the battery cells.

You would apply a load between PACK+ and PACK-, if you want to discharge. You would apply power between the PACK+ and PACK-, if you want to charge.

  • Dear Tom

Thank you very much about quick responce.

I will make some explain docunnet by self.

This is clear  for connet to Power suppkey with dummy cells.

    Thanks and Regard
