LM5010A-RTN Pin

Mohit,

The WEBENCH design only shows one GND. Both SGND and RTN should both be connected to this GND.

If you download the CAD files (schematic etc.) they will show the actual pin connections. You can download the CAD files in the box at the lower right hand corner of the design page for your design.

Thanks for your reply.Kindly verify my schematic i.e for 8.4V/600mA or 1A max. current.. Also please provide me gerbers file for the schematic design which will help me in PCB manufacturing. Also provide some information that if I connect a opamp circuit in parallel to its output for the battery charging/ charged indication, as I will be using the DC-DC converter for charging 7.2V Li-ion battery., the opamp circuit will work or not. Because I also used some DC-DC converter  in which I faced problem in connecting voltage comparator circuit  in parallel because output of the DC-Dc converter do not drop when connecting it to the battery.

I am not clear on how you are trying to use the op-amp circuit. Can you share the circuit?

Your are right. The opamp will see the battery voltage.

For further help with the LM339 circuit, it may be useful to post in LM339 related forum. They may be able to better suggest a workaround.

With the issues related to Li ion batteries, I would suggest that you consider changing your output from the LM5010A to 12V or even 10V and then using one of our battery charging IC's like the BQ24105.

This can be a standalone IC or it could be operated by your MC.

This would protect the battery and it has built in monitoring so that you would not need the LM339 to operate the LED's. This would be a much safer and efficient solution.

I am working on the EVM of LM-5010 . In my Application I need a Output current limit threshold change from 1.23A to 0.6A . For that I change the Resistor R4 from the value 0.68 ohm to 2 ohm, but there is no change in the output current. Kindly suugest me the resistor value to change the output current limit to 0.6A.

That is correct. If you need smaller current parts see LM(2)5007.
