Battery charge level measurement with TPS65217

Hi All,

I am connecting a Li+ battery to TPS65217C with AM335x. TPS65217C can detect if the battery is connected or not. However, I should show the battery charge level. I mean, I want to detect how much charge is left in the battery; %10, %55 or other values. On the cell phones you see how much battery is left so you know when to charge or remove from the charger. This is exactly my application.

I read TPS65217 datasheet but could not find out how to do it. Is it possible to do so at all and if yes how?

It depends on how accurate you want to be. A fuel gauge IC would be the way to go if you want good accuracy with a Li+ battery. You could also use the MUX_OUT pin on the PMIC, run it to your processor and have it do the number crunching to give you a rough estimate.
