HDC1080: Masking for conformal coating

Part Number: HDC1080

Our customer wants the leads of this device conformally coated (Humiseal #UV40-250), and we will need to mask the sensor area on top to ensure coating does not enter the sensor.  Is synthetic latex solder mask safe to apply to the sensor area?  It would then be removed after spraying the leads with the coating.

I believe the device is not available with a tape seal already on the sensor.

Thanks you,

  • Hi Lance,

Sorry, we have not experience with the synthetic latex solder mask, and if it can damage the HDC sensing element.

Instead for your purpose, we suggest a tape of polymide foil that can directly attached to the top surface of the sensor.

Refer, for example, to the Kapton polymide film.

Please let me know if you have any question.

    Best regards,

    Carmine
