AWR1642: Can MMWAVE-DEMO-VISUALIZER support load configuration but not send to device

Hi,

My customer is using the SDK 1.0.0.5, now they can run the mmw demo well. We tried to fix parameters for test, why not send configuration from PC, but still want to display the result in MMWAVE-DEMO-VISUALIZER. Currently the demo can run well with fixed parameters, and data can be received in the PC through terminal. But the plot cannot displayed on the MMWAVE-DEMO-VISUALIZER. I think it is need to load configuration into MMWAVE-DEMO-VISUALIZER for display, but I don't find one button in the visualizer. Would u pls help change it to support configuration load only?

In the previous SDK 0.8, the demo run is through command, and it can support load configuration only.

Hi Andy,

To reload a new config when the demo is already running, you can try the 'STOP' button under PLOTS tab of mmWave Demo Visualizer.

When demo is running:
1. Hit STOP
2. "Load new config from PC" or " Send Config to mmwave device" using the correct tabs.
3. Hit START to restart the demo run.

My use case is that the parameters are fixed in the code, and never need to reload new config from PC, but still want to use the visualizer to display the result. In this case the STOP button cannot click, and if use the "Load new config from PC and SEND" it will send new configuration to device which will overwrite my previous fixed parameters.

Hello Andy,

Currently, the mmWave Demo Visualizer does not support this feature. The only option is to load a config from PC by following the steps outlined in Vaibhav's earlier post.
