HDC2010: Calibration and Design Guide to Get Higher Accuracy

Hi,

My customer complains that the accuracy of HDC2010 is much worse than datasheet, and the differentiation is also very big in different boards, do we have any calibration and design guide to get good accuracy? I know there are some in the datasheet but I think it is not enough. Thanks.

  • Hi Wayne,
    I assume you are referring to RH accuracy and not temperature, right? There are various reasons for an RH accuracy exceeding the +/- 3% spec from the data sheet. Key factors are:

    1. Long exposures to UV light, visible light or high concentration chemical vapors
    2. Package materials which can produce significant out-gassing
    3. Not following the soldering guidelines in the data sheet.

    Please be sure that your customer is quite familiar and follows all these procedures. There is no required calibration if all these guidelines are followed.

  • Hi Wayne,
    The maximum accuracy of the temp sensor is specified to be +/- 0.4C. We guarantee this value with no calibration needed.
    This max value is valid in the 5C to 60C. Outside this range there is no max spec , only typical.
