CC2540 RSSI Update

Hi,

We are working on a RSSI Measure Project using cc2540 in the Central Role.The detailed information is as follows:

1)  BLE 1.4 stack

2)  using cc2540 in the Central Role

3)  using ipod in the peripheral Role

It began to read rssi value using "SimpleCentralRssiCB" func, but I found that the rssi value no change. When the data reading and writing will be updated. There is no constant RSSI update if there is no data packet tranmission. 

Would like to understand that if the BLE1.4 stack is still with the issue of not having the RSSI update while in IDLE mode (no data packet transmission).

    Yes, unfortunately this is a bug that we had in a very old version of our stack and that has reappeared in our v1.4.0 stack. It will be fixed in the next release. For now the only way around this is to ensure that you receive a data packet every time you want to check the RSSI.

    Could you provide any information, when this "next release" will be published?

    We have the same problem, that after updating to the 1.4 stack, the RSSI value only changes after an active communication.

    Hello again,

    a couple of months are gone, but unfortunately there is still no update for the stack available.
    This means, that there is at least one known bug (the RSSI update) in the official stack since 13 months.
    Can anybody tell me, when a new stack version (1.5.0 ?) will be available?
