MSP432P401R: Graphical LCD interfacing to MSP432 microcontroller

Part Number: MSP432P401R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430WARE

Hi,

We wanted to interface a graphical LCD (320x480p) to our MSP432 microcontroller. For this, we have the following queries,

  1. Whether Graphical display screen design tools are available with TI ? or, we have to take care in firmware itself?
  2. Whether any LCD graphic libraries are readily available from TI and if yes, whether these libraries are generic i.e. will work for all the LCDs?

Regards,

Santosh

  • Hello Santosh,

Here is a link to the MSP432 graphics library.  Unfortunately, there is no design tool, but there are examples and an API guide.

According the latest release notes, the library provides templates to add new graphic display support.

  • Thanks Dennis for the reply.

    We went through the link you shared. Just few queries;

    • We couldn't find any link to download the libraries there
    • Under "Installation and Usage" on the same page, we came to know about MSPware. So, we searched in https://www.ti.com/tool/MSPWARE link and found MSP430WARE SDK under Downloads.
    • Now the questions is as we are using MSP432 in our design, can we use MSP430WARE SDK directly or, there is separate SDK available for MSP432 only?

Please let us know if you have any other suggestions.

    Regards,

    Santosh.

  • Hi Santosh,

Let's make sure we are aligned.

Maybe I posted the wrong link.  This the link->  https://www.ti.com/tool/MSP-GRLIB

This is a common library shared between MSP430 and MSP432.
