LP-CC1352P7: How to read RSSI and LQI from received 802.15.4 frame?

I am using two LPC kits. One as a transmitter and the other a a receiver.

Transmitter can transmit desired number of packets on an 802.15.4 channel.

Receiver can receive the same. How do I extract RSSI and LQI from each of the received packets?

Hi Karthik,

Please see Sections 25.5.1.4 and 25.5.3.1 of the TRM. If bAppendRssi is set In the Receive Queue Entry Configuration Bit Field (should be the default for SysConfig) then the RSSI should be appended to the RX Queue Entry Element. Thus you should be able to parse the receive buffer to obtain the RSSI value.

Converting between RSSI and LQI is an equation which has been shared in a separate E2E thread.

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the information.

I looked at the formula to compute LQI.

Out of academic interest, I would like to understand if there are references to these constants?

Is it different for each chip family?

MAC_SPEC_ED_MAX = 255, ED_RF_POWER_MIN_DBM = -90,ED_RF_POWER_MAX_DBM = -5

This min/max range is derived from datasheet and specification.
