LP5562: Pad diameter and Solder resist opening

Part Number: LP5562

Hi team,

We would like to know the pad type, the pad diameter(A) and the solder resist opening size(B) as shown in below figure. Could you provide those information?

Regards,

Jun

  • Hi team,

According to the package information, I think as below but are those correct?

    ① Pad type : SMD
    ② Pad diameter A : Φ0.225
    ③ Solder resist opening B : Φ0.225

    ① Pad type : NSMD
    ② Pad diameter A : Φ0.225
    ③ Solder resist opening B : Max.Φ0.3

    Regards,
    Jun
  • Hi, Jun,

    You are correct.

  • Hello Kenneth-san,

Thank you for your answer. I have some additional questions in below.

    1) Which is available for LP5562, SMD or NSMD?

    2) Please provide min/max value for Φ0.225 of pad diameter A and solder resist opening B in SMD?

    3) Please provide typ. value for max.Φ0.3 of solder resist opening B in NSMD?

    Regards,

    Jun

  • Hi, Jun,

Please refer to the following Application Report:

  • Hi Kenneth-san,

    Thank you for your support!

According to the app note you attached, the solder mask opening for NSMD is 0.325+/-0.02mm but max.0.3mm is described in the datasheet. Which is the correct values for mask opening in NSMD?

Just to make sure, LP5562 is used for both type of soldering mask (SMD or NSMD) so the customer can select which type is suitable for their assembly. SMD or NSMD isn't distinguished by part#, correct?

    Regards,
    Jun
  • Hi, Jun,

The app note is a overall rule and for different devices there may be some slight differences. So please use 0.3mm as the max value and you can use 0.02mm for the variation for 0.265mm pitch. So the typical value is 0.3-0.002 mm.

You're correct. Both SMD and NSMD are OK and customer can select the suitable one.

Please help to click "Resolve" if the problem is solved.

    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Kenneth
