Ultra Low-cost Isolated DC-DC Converter with SN6501

The new SN6501 transformer driver in combination with the new center-tap transformers from Wuerth-Electronics/Midcom allows for ultra low-cost isolated DC-DC converter designs with very small form factors. This apps-note show two circuits with unregulated and regulated outputs and their measured performance characteristics for a wide range of transformers from Wuerth-Electronics/Midcom, Coilcraft, and Murata.

For detailed information consult the SN6501 data sheet and its extensive application section.

  • Hi,

i am working on an application design that requires an  isolated dc dc converter with specs of 5V/5V and an output current of 10mA max. what would be the input current at Vin=5V in the circuit given in Figure 2 of the apps-note? and also what is the quiescent current of this circuit at no load?
