CC2652R: Zigbee Product Certification/Licensing

Hello, I am working on a smart home sensor Zigbee-based product, using the CC2652R SimpleLink MCU. My question is, in order to sell this product commercially here in the US do I need to have some kind of Zigbee Certification/Licensing for this product?

FCC is mandatory but Zigbee certification is not. However, it’s recommended to go through Zigbee certification to make sure that your project is compatible to other 3rd party Zigbee devices.

Z-Stack for the CC2652R is underway to be certified as a compliant platform, however it is the customer's responsibility to have their product certified through the Zigbee Alliance. This will ensure that it is compatible and interoperable with other Zigbee 3.0 devices.
