You would need to get approval from your battery pack manufacturer that your suggested method of charging isok to them and safe. The issue is that these buck converters are not meant to be battery chargers. Our battery chargers have very accurate current…

Please look at the bq24450 EVM. It has an option to use a MOSFET and an explanation on how to change the circuit for its use. But likely this will not help you. The heat is from operating the transistor (FET or BJT) in the active region, not in saturation…

Thank you for answer. BQ24450 datasheet very clear and sufficient. I have solve my problem. New question: bq24450 and uc3906 schematic is same, what differences as new features of BQ24450?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2153 , BQ24450 , LM393 Hi, I am planning to interface the MSP430G2153 with bq24450 to read the charge status pins. The problem is that if I connect directly to STAT1 pin it will mass up the voltage divider…

If this is a new design, I would recommend looking at using a newer IC, such as the bq246xx family with this app note: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva437a/slva437a.pdf Additionally, with such a low charge current, you might look into the bq24450 linear…

I would say the functions of UC3906 are same as bq24450. UC3906 is a very old part. bq24450 is a new silicon. Also, bq24450 EVM is avaible. You can use that EVM as reference to debug your board. The EVM link: http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders…

I'm not sure that I understand the question. The TPS54260 will regulate the output voltage. It provides a DC bus from which the bq24450 and any other circuits can draw power. The bq24450 will charge the batteries and it sets the charge current. As long…

UC3825 is not a charger! is ok for the power conversion but won't manage the charging as a real charger would do... I reccomend you to add a proper charger stage cascaded to the UC3825, based on UC3906, UC3909 or BQ24450... Vincenzo
