From TI side, there is no preference to use 3.3 V or 2.5 V supply mode. In 3.3 V mode, an internal LDO regulator is used to step the supply down to 2.5 V internally.
A DC-to-DC converter can be used for the 2.5 V supply as long as it meets datasheet…
