The latest H.264 encoder ( 2.00.02.02) (available with EZSDK http://www.ti.com/tool/LINUXEZSDK-DAVINCI, for example) supports encoding up to 4352x4096 resolution. Refer the data sheet for performance related information.

I am working with EZSDK 5.05.02.00 / PSP 04.04.00.01, and the HDVICP2 firmware is located at :

There are different SDKs available from TI to get this done. The open source SDK available will be EZSDK. You can try to evaluate the SDK for your application.
