Part Number: MAX3238 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GD65232 , GD75232 , SN74LVC3G17 , TLV1871 , TLV1811 Tool/software: I need a RS232 transceiver with at least 3 drivers and 3 receivers, Vcc of 3.3V but the V+ and V- on the RS232 side needs to be able…
Part Number: MAX3238 Hi Support Team.
In the Qualification Summary, the results of ESD-HBM and CDM are described as "See data sheet". However, the datasheet does not show the results of ESD.
Please tell me ESD data (HBM data , CDM data) of MAX3238CPWR…
Part Number: MAX3238 We have a product that we have been selling for about a decade that uses a MAX3238C. Recently we had a production run and 3 devices failed in the field. One failed after a few days, another failed after a few weeks, and the third…
Part Number: MAX3238 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MAX3232 , MAX3232E Dear Team,
Currently, the customer is using SP3232 for 4 output application.
I find MAX3238, but this one is very old solution.
Do you have more up to date solution?
It will…
Sylvain,
Yes, you can apply voltage to the input RINx pins when Vcc=0V. Internally there is a 5kOhm pull down resistor at the pin per RS232's standard. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hao
Masazumi san,
Logic inputs are CMOS gate with ESD cell to ground only.
Logic output are PMOS and NMOS drive from VCC and ground. parasitic diodes to VCC and ground.
RS232 RIN is 5k resistance to ground.
RS232 DOUT is high Z when off and current…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MAX3238-Q1 Hi Team, My customer considers to use MAX3238-Q1 for his automotive application. He conducted reliability test for MAX3238-Q1 but I heard he couldn't pass the 1kV impulse testing. The RS-232 port(DOUT1-5, RIN1…
Scenario: VCC remains applied to all transceivers.
R-OUT1,2,3 (ie,not R-OUT1b) from 2 (or multiple) transceivers connected together when FORCEOFF = L on all the transceivers except the 1 active transceiver.
Can D-OUTS from 2 (or multiple) transceivers…
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MAX3238E , MAX3238 Hi,
I have a question about function tables of receiver in the MAX3238 and MAX3238E datasheet.
Could you see following figure? And, could you please teach me?
Thanks in advance,
Toshi…
Hi Donald,
The MAX3238E would be a pin-for-pin replacement to TRSF3238E with substantially lower output slew rate (since it was designed for maximum baud rates of 250 kbps). Based on the waveform you described (with fast rise times and slow decay)…
