Part Number: SN65HVD257EVM I have a PXI card that I am trying to design a self test for. Is it possible to use the SN65HVD257EVM as a sort of self test for a CAN system? Is that functionality that is native to the evaluation board, or would I have to…

Part Number: SN65HVD257EVM Hello, I can't find any 2D drawings or dimensional data for this board anywhere. Could you please send me information for the board design dimensions? Ideally, I'd like to get CAD for the board, but I can work with a detailed…

Yes, there are. SN65HVD255EVM, SN65HVD257EVM, SN65HVD230EVM You can choose different configuration based on your need. I personally have used 257 since it comes with two CAN transceivers. -- Kash If my post answers your questions please click on…

Sumanta, You can't simply connect CAN_TX and CAN_RX and make the CAN communication. You need to use CAN transceivers to convert CAN_TX and CAN_RX (CAN signals at MCU side) to CAN_H and CAN_L in order to make a CAN bus. Since you need two CAN transceivers…

You're right. If you want to use PCAN, you need to use CAN transceivers to convert CAN_TX/RX to CAN_H/L so you'll be able to monitor CAN messages on the PC. There are multiple CAN transceivers, I would pick an EVM board to verify the design. I used…

If you want to connect your device to a CAN bus, you need to have a CAN transceiver. The CAN transceiver convert the CAN_TX and CAN_RX signals to CAN_H and CAN_L to be able to get transmitted over CAN bus. I've recently purchased a CAN evaluation module…

In addition to the TXD pin section (6.x, page 9 of the datasheet) there is also a section on using the device with 3.3V MCUs in the EVM users guide, section 3.5, page 11. http://www.ti.com/tool/sn65hvd257evm -- Scott
