Sorry for the late reply.
The RS485/422 bus for SN65HVD35 can handle (fault protected) up to 14V but it's lower limit is -9V.
You can look at THVD1452 or THVD 2412V as Clemens has suggested for wider protection.

As shown at "Pin Functions" of datasheet, RE pin is "Digital output". But as it is "Receiver enable" I think it should be "Digital input", am I right?
