You could also use a single buffered or analog multiplexer (SN74LVC1G97 or SN74LVC1G3157) to drive eight buffers (SN74LVC541A or SN74AHC541).
The SN74LVC2G157 has only one channel; better use the SN74AHC157 or SN74HCS157.
Analog muxes like the SN74LV4053A work fine; the TMUX1574/5 has a higher bandwidth.
