    At 3.3 V, the V IH of the SN74LVC2G17 is 2.0 V. You need to use the SN74AUP1T08, and add a separate open-drain buffer like the SN74LVC1G07.

    Hi, Your reasoning is correct. Based on VIH(min) = 2.0V for the SN74LVC1G08 at Vcc = 3.3V, it should be able effectively up-translate from a 2.5V device to 3.3V assuming the VOH of the 2.5V device exceeds VIH(min) = 2.0V. I also recommend checking…
