The highest bit shift register we have is 16 bit. However, you can use the SN74HCS595-Q1 and cascade 3 of them together to achieve 24 bits.

The input to the SN74HC595 needs to have sharp edges to be valid. The shown blue waveform is much too slow and could produce erroneous inputs.
