    Hi Dennis, This app note is for an LVDS receiver. The SN75976A is an RS-485 transceiver. Are you saying the app note applies to the SN75976A also?

    The (differential) output voltage depends on the output impedance of the driver and the load impedance. In theory, if the output impedance is small, you could go to one diode drop near the power rails. That would result in about 2 V. But the maximum…
