1. Yes, but the HDMI stream cannot contain audio.
2. Yes.
3. The TFP401 does not have registers. You can reference the TFP401PZPEVM for an example schematic. The datasheet itself also has enough detailed information.

Hi Marco,
If you connect the TFP410 to the TFP401, you can easily just look at the TFP401's outputs with an oscilloscope. They are just digital LVTTL outputs.
