I just found the TIDA-050014 reference design ( https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tiduef4/tiduef4.pdf ) which has PP_CABLE as NC. Would just like confirmation that this is okay for an "actual" design as in the datasheet it says the minimum voltage is 2.95 :)

Please refer to TIDA-050014. I think that TI-Design can be used to closer fit your needs. The TPS65982EVM would not work with all adapters at all voltages.
