I believe the TPIC2050 and TPIC2060A are based on the same design, and their registers are similar. There shouldn't be much of a difference between the two devices. I have a few follow-up questions.

As long as the test equipment can communicate with the TPIC2050 or TPIC2060A over SPI, it can read register 0x7E. Is the customer concerned that it won't?

I have seen the TPIC2060A used in Blu-ray recorders and the TPIC2050 used in Blu-ray players. Based on that, it looks like the TPIC2060A is best for writing data. Is your system for red laser or blue laser drives? I think the laser power requirements…
