    The controller is not capable of withstanding IEC 61000-4-4 class spikes without the TVS2200. The TVS2200 is specifically designed to address IEC Surge issues.

    Knut, We strongly recommend that you use a TVS2200 or a very closely spec'd replacement as your protection diode. It you use this diode along with the 10nFx4, you will have sufficient protection for your device. Regards, Chuck
