The TXU0102, TXU0202, TXU0104, TXU0204, and TXU0304 have an IBIS model. All TXU I/Os behave similarly.

Hi Chitharanjan, Please note that all auto-bidirectional devices will have bias requirements for their supplies. A good recommendation would be TXU0102 or TXU0202 (4 channel options are also available if needed) as UART signals are not auto-bidirectional…

Hey Nolan, Buffers essentially redrives the signal for further downstream devices, which is especially useful over longer distances. You can see how much drive strength the device has by looking at IOH/IOL specs in the datasheets. You are right that…

Correct. For unidirectional signals, it is usually a better idea to use a fixed-direction translator like the TXU0101/TXU0102.

  • RE: TXS0102: Customer need Level translator for UART(4Mbps) and they need ~2m cable between 2 devices...

The TXS is a passive switch with rising-edge accelerators. For unidirectional signals, a level shifter like the TXU0102 would be more robust, and its symmetrical outputs are easier to terminate, if needed.

Hello Jim, in general your level-shifter circuitry seems to be OK. The component values of cause depend on the selected transistor. Please be aware that this kind of level shifter is inverting the signal. You could try your circuitry without the TMS3705…
