DRA746: suggestion on rotating incoming video

Hi everybody ,

please I have an incoming video flow ( now on Video input port , on CSI in future models ... ) . this frame should be rotated 90 or 180 degrees .

which is the simplest and and easiest way to rotate ?

doing frame by frame could be consuming

Hi Carlo,

The capture hardware do not allow you to rotate the video.
But you can rotate it by 90/180/270 degrees while displaying
by changing DRM rotation properties, you should be able to achieve this.

If you want to rotate by small degrees, then its better to implement the rotation in DSP

Hi Nikhil ,
please are you referring to " DISPC Rotation and Mirroring " in datasheet ?
overall impact will be only on bus utilization and no Mips ?

Yes

There is a TILER module which allows to fetch video from rotated view
Display hardware can utilize this without any processing

There is no additional processing to be done.
But note that it only supports rotations and flips of 90degrees
