AM335x RS485 Implementation

Hello,

i'm evaluating the sitara am335x with a beaglebone and an tmdevx3358 for my projects.

Therefore i'm searching for an examplary implementation of the RS485 half-duplex bus with an external phy.

Maybe there are examples or tutorials for en easy entry because i'm new to the ti microprocessors.

I'm using the ti linux sdk.

Hello,

does the AM335x support an auto rs485 mode or do i have to toggle the RTS Line with a GPIO?

Hi Michael,

AM335x does not support an auto RS-485 mode. However, as you mentioned, the RTS control line indicating the transmission direction could be added by toggling a GPIO.

Where you able to ever get your transmission working with RTS from the CPU? Or did you end up using a GPIO? I'm trying to get control of the RTS lines working at the moment and having problems.
