AM335x future silicon revisions affecting LCD pin map

The silicon errata (sprz360.pdf) section 3.1.1 “LCD: Color Assignments of LCD_DATA Terminals” shows the Red and Blue channels swapped depending on which color mapping mode is used, RGB888 or RGB565.

Is it likely that TI will swap the Red and Blue color channels for the RGB888 mode in future silicon revisions?

And If there is a change, to which of the RGB888 or the RGB565 modes would the change apply?

We intend to use RGB888 mode for 18 bpp displays, or 24 bpp displays configured for 18 bpp.

At this time, there are no plans to change the color assignmnets of the LCD data terminals.

Hai Paul,

We are using AM3354 in our design and latest Errata sprz360b indicates the swap of Red and Blue signals. But when I see the evaluation board, they are not swapped. Do let us know whether we have to swap blue and red signals as per Errata or not. The Errata is revised on May 2012.

The General Purpose EVM does have the colors swapped. The swap is done in the CPLD mapping of the LCD signals.

So I am assuming the pin out from the Errata and going ahead with the pin mapping.

Hello,

Just wanted to make sure if the LCD Errata won't be resolved in latest Revision 2.0 also?
Can anybody from TI confirm this?

Revision 2.0 of AM335x will not have any changes related to LCD signal assignments. Usage Note 3.1.1 will still apply to Revision 2.0.
