AM335x Cortex A-8 for safety applications

Hello.

I know Texas has the Cortex-R4 for safety related applications, but what I want to know right now is: Is it possible to use the Sitara microcontrollers for safety applications?

Does it provide anything like the Cortex R4?

I want to use Sitara microcontrollers since it's possible ot use EtherCAT with them.

Hi Pablo,

The AM335X is not intended for safety-related applications, and TI assumes no responsibility if it is used in such products. This is specifically stated in the "Important Information" section at the end of the AM335X datasheet.
