AM335X Sitara starter kit X11 port

Hi,

I am attempting to use the new sitara AM335X starter kit SDK for development/cross compilation of an X11 based application. From what I have seen of the SDK, it does not include the X11 sources or libraries. I have started the cross compilation process outlined at http://www.x.org/wiki/CrossCompilingXorg/ I have gotten about 25% of the way thru, and keep on getting tripped up on cross compiling libAppleWm.

I am wondering if anyone here has attempted to cross compile X11 for the combination of toolchain/prcocessor that defines the AM335x Sitara board, and if any guidance could be provided.

Have you seen the Graphics SDK? It supports X11 Window system. Please check out the release notes: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/RN_4_09_00_01

Hello Victor John,

Our Sitara SDK does not come with X11. X11 has a lot of dependencies, so you might want to try to use OpenEmbedded to generate all the packages you need. We have some training on OpenEmbedded that might be helpful to you: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Sitara_Linux_Training:_Getting_Started_with_Openembedded.

Also, have you looked into the community Angstron and Ubuntu distributions for BeagleBone? I'm pretty sure both of those have X11 ready to go, so maybe that would be an easier path for you to take. Keep in mind, though, that none of those community distributions are supported by TI, but rather by the community: http://beagleboard.org/Community/Forums.

Hello,
The Linux Training above is broken. The command:

git clone git://gitorious.org/sitara-bootcamp/meta-custom.git -b amsdk-06.00.00.00

fails. Is there something more up to date?
