AM335x Initramfs from NAND

i have "arago-base-tisdk-image-am335x-evm-20160405224338.rootfs" filesystem as UBI image in NAND flash. can i convert it to initramfs image and flash it with kernel in NAND ?

regarding this already i followed this procedure given in "http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Sitara_Linux_Program_the_eMMC_on_Beaglebone_Black"

and instead of "tiny flasher system" i used "arago-base-tisdk-image-am335x-evm-20160405224338.rootfs" and made symbolic link to "init.sysvinit" in the top most directory so that kernel can start the filesystem. i have also flashed the uboot, MLO and am335x_evm.dtb also in NAND flash in respective regions but when im booting the image the kernel hangs.

kindly tell me where could be the problem and how can i exercise initramfs using "arago-base-tisdk-image-am335x-evm-20160405224338.rootfs" in NAND in am3358evm

Hi Kemal

i made initramfs image as per the procedure given in the links u mentioned but when im flashing the kernel (include initramfs) in NAND flash and try to boot it is hanging.

so regarding that can u plz suggest how i can make initramfs from any filesystem / arago-base-tisdk-image-am335x-evm-20160405224338.rootfs filesytem.

You may have missed to add some vital nodes to the /dev directory. Or the generated kernel image may exceed the defined partition size and you may need to repartition the NAND layout. Could you attach a log where it hangs?

hi Kemal

i found out that NAND.kernel partition in NAND flash is 0x00800000 bytes

and size of zImage is 0x2307718 bytes. so can u plz suggest any way to compress this initramfs
