Hi,
On a design based on AM572x processor, does the USB subsystem provide support to enable test codes required for USB 2.0 (USB2 interface) and USB 3.0 (USB1 interface) compliance testing?
If so, can the details of enabling the USB test modes be shared with us?
Regards,
Shareef
Hello Shareef,
1) No. AM57xx devices support DRD (Dual-Role Device) rather than Embedded or OTG Host functionality. The link provided by Biser contains the instructions for placing the device the USB2.0 test modes.
2) Yes.
Hello DK,
Thanks for the response. I have further queries based on your response.
1) I believe that the USB 2.0 test modes specified in the DWC3 user guide link is sufficient to complete the USB 2.0 protocol compliance testing. And no additional software configuration is needed for the USB 2.0 compliance testing.
2) Similarly I understand that for USB 3.0 compliance testing no software configuration is needed, please confirm? Also how will the USB 3.0 host controller of AM5728 enter into the compliance mode.
Regards,
Shareef
1) Correct.
2) Also correct. USB3.0 compliance mode is entered and controlled by the remote link partner via the USB interface itself. Please refer to section 7 of the USB3.1 specification for more details.
