Linux/AM5728: Prevent file system corruption

Part Number: AM5728

Tool/software: Linux

Hello,

we are evaluating the AM5728 SoC. We are using linux and gstreamer on AM5728 EVM. Our application programm must be updatable, so the corresponding file system must be read/writeable. Also we need to save application settings and system settings for linux.

What is the best way to prevent file system corruption? Is a clean shutdown of linux necessary? I already know that important factors are wear levelling, write cache, journaling, buffer capacitor/battery... .  For us the best solution would be to just switch off power without proper shutdown. But the system should always startup correctly.

How does Arago linux handle this issue? We don't want to use additional hardware like buffer capacitor/battery. How can we create a robust system?

Thanks and have a nice day

Marc
