TMDXIDK5728: SD card boot fails

We have purchased one TI TMDXIDK5728 board, it can’t boot up with the incoming SD card. The SD card can boot up other same board.

Stop at here, is this a hardware problem? Hope can get some help from you. Thanks in advance.

You can create a new boot card from the image files here: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

Hi Biser,
Thank you for your response.
I have tried the image am57xx-evm-linux-rt-03.02.00.05.img.zip download from software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html. Use Win32Imager to make boot card a new SD card, but the problem is still happened, the same as I described up there.
Is there anything I can change or try, or we can consider this is a hardware issue.

Zitao,

A few questions:

Do I understand from your original post that you have more than one IDK board and one boots correctly and one does not?
For the failing units, was this behavior observed right out of the box?
Have either of the units had any modification?
Are the jumpers on both boards identical?
Have you swapped power supplies between the working and non-working boards and seen the same results?
What are the symptoms of failure other than the boot log provided previously?
Do you see any damage to the SDCARD cage and contacts?

Hi Tom,

For your questions,

1. Yes, we have a lab, and this SD card can run another am5278. And the SD card on another board can't boot this board.

2. I use the incoming SD card and the board I didn't do any changes, didn't success never before.

3.no

4.Same.

5.Same result.

6.No others. Just can't boot up from u-boot, tried several SD cards and also made new one, the same results.

7.Can't see any damage.

This part of the log indicates to me that their is a physical problem with the board that is preventing the PMIC from powering the SDCARD port:

Trying to boot from MMC1
i2c_write: error waiting for data ACK (status=0x116)
tps65903x: could not set LDO1 voltage.

Please initiate an RMA to get the unit returned and replaced.

Tom,

Thanks for the verification, this board was purchased by our local vendor Mouser. Could you show me the process of RMA or I contact our vendor directly?

You will need to work the RMA with Mouser. They will contact TI.
