TAS5825M: audio artifacts when playing specific audio clip

Part Number: TAS5825M

hi,

we're having issues when playing a specific audio clip.

there is a flutter like noise that can be heard at different time-postions of the bass-drum's decay according to level
my assumption is that there is a level dependent transition happening that makes this noise.

we can have this go away by changing the internal gain structure:
dac gain from 0db to 15db
and analog gain from 0db to -15db
but this will limit our headroom and introduce distortion too early on louder levels.

the volume is set in software in our code before sending the data to the class d.
the digital output of the bass-drum when exported from our software has no artifacts like this at any volume level.

our full class d settings are as attached.
changing any of those, expect the gain as described earlier, don't make any difference.

how can we get rid of this noise?

i have a confidential recording when this happens, please reach out to me in order to access it.
